Daylight Savings Time

I have yet to figure out the purpose of DST (Daylight Savings Time) besides confusing people on a Sunday morning. I thought it had something to do with farmers, but found out that the farmers didn't want DST. I have noticed lately when I leave for work at 6:50am that it is very bright outside, sort of like it should be later, say, maybe 7:50 am. I can never remember which way to change the clocks. I have a hard enough time getting used to falling back an hour and when I finally do, they change the time again, so then I have to spring forward. Then I am even more tired because I have to adjust to the difference in daylight. I wish we could just pick something and get on with it! I have heard that there are some towns that do not even use DST, which would be strange because then at some point they would be off by an hour but then again, that is just like the difference between time zones in some places. What do you think? More random thoughts later.

Daylight savings time is a Communist plot and a threat to Western Civilization; just like the fluoridation of water and the creation of Mickey Mouse. I say that we all join together and boycott the time change. Slackers unite! You have nothing to lose but your jobs!

What can be especially galling is when Congress changes the date for implementing DST, but no one tells your computer at work that it has already been reset for fast time. The result is that when the original date for Daylight Savings Time comes around, your computer decides to advance yet another hour. Because of this, you have to waste time resetting it. Sometimes more than once.
